Himlung expedition stopped

Although our Himlung expedition never reached Base Camp and are unharmed. We decided to stop this Expedition. Huge amounts off snow blocks the Nar-Phu valley and makes it impossible to continue.

We are unharmed

We have different groups in different areas at the moment, but none of our groups are harmed or in danger! After the heavy snowfall on the 13th the weather is good again. Also the weather forecast perdicts no more bad weather; All groups are continuing their normal schedule. It terrible what happened with those who got trapped by the bad weather. Our thoughts are with them and their families.

team reaches the summit!

Our team reached the summit off Manaslu on the 27th. We did a direct push from cap 1 to 3; camp 3 to the summit! We summited in perfect weather with no other teams around!

Our acclimatisation round

On Sept. 17th we hatched a plan to head up to high camp 1 the next day. To avoid the sun we would leave at 6 am. We would attempt to get to 6800m this trip in two steps and complete our acclimatization. Weather looked ok, and everyone was on track.

First nights on the mountain

Today is Wednesday September 17th and surprisingly, we are enjoying in the sunshine in basecamp. Today we counted 14 other basecamps here on Manaslu ? not super busy but a good amount of people. This is the first day of sunshine we have had in basecamp and it couldn?t have come at a better time.
