tomorrow we reach Base Camp
We are staying in the teahouse off my friend the “teacher”; it’s a nice and comfortable place compared what it was when I first came here.
We will do a small Puja in the monastery before we head up to Base Camp tomorrow. We will get our prayer flags blessed, for our Puja in Base Camp. A Puja is a ceremony to explain to the “mountain god” we don’t mean any harm and we hope the mountain will not harm us after this.
Tomorrow we will head up to Base Camp at around 4800m; this is a four hour hike from Samagaoan. Today our staff already went up with ninety porters and tomorrow we need probably twenty five more. Just to get a feel off the amount off equipment we need to climb Manaslu: on the way in we needed Forty Five Mules and 25 porters; that is around 3.5 Tons off equipment, fuel & food!
We are looking forward to reach Base Camp tomorrow!
